Since 2006, New York State prohibits the possession and sale of all native reptiles and amphibians, whether captive bred or wild caught; or originating within or from without the state. Currently the only way Turtlesale.com can sell a species of turtle listed as native in New York, to a customer in New York, is if both the buyer and the seller have the appropriate permits from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. At this time it is our understanding those permits are issued only for legitimate research or educational purposes.
