Mississippi Map Turtle Graptemys Kohnii Turtles for Sale Adoption / Export / Education The Mississippi Map Turtles are often characterized as being very similar in appearance to the False Map Turtle. With this in mind there is a good deal of debate regarding the references made to their classification. Nevertheless, the best trait to use for identification purposes is the curved shaped marking located behind the eye that hinders the stripes on their neck from reaching the eye. The Turtle’s skin can range from a light brown to olive, with an abundance of slender yellow stripes radiating throughout their body. The Mississippi Map exhibits white eyes and a plastron with a more developed pattern than its relative the False Map Turtle. This Turtle also exhibits a good deal of sexual dimorphism with males only achieving 4”-6” and females being much closer to 12”. | |

| Peninsula Cooter Pseudemys Floridana Peninsularis Turtles for Sale Adoption / Export / Education Peninsula Cooters are considered to be one of the most commonly observed Turtles in southern portions of the United States, along with their close relative the Red Belly Cooter. They are often characterized by the lines that mark their neck, head and legs; they also posses an appealingly decorative carapace. Peninsula Cooters are quite shy; aside from the adequate basking that they will perform, they will likely prefer to scurry away when being startled by the presence of person. Like many other aquatic species Peninsula Cooter hatchlings require a diet higher in animal matter, but this requirement will diminish overtime. Yellow Belly Turtles Trachemys Scripta Scripta Turtles for Sale Adoption / Export / Education Yellow Belly Slider Turtles generally illustrate carapace colorations that range from a darker shade of green to brown, with a patch of yellow present on the side of their head. Their plastrons are frequently characterized by being yellow hue, with the presence of round blotches. The marginal scutes on a Yellow Belly Slider commonly exhibit bold black spotting. Yellow Belly Sliders posses webbed feet making them excellent swimmers. It is not uncommon for a certain level of sexual dimorphism to occur with this species. Their average carapace length generally falls between 5”-8”, with the male falling on the smaller side of this range. |
