Red Belly Cooter Turtles are
considered to be one of the most commonly observed Turtles in southern
portions of the United States. They are often characterized by the
lines that mark their neck, head and legs; they also posses an
appealingly decorative carapace. Red Belly Cooters are quite shy; aside
from the adequate basking that they will perform, they will likely
prefer to scurry away when being startled by the presence of person.
Like many other aquatic species Red Belly Cooter hatchlings require a
diet higher in animal matter, but this requirement will diminish
overtime. As they will eventually desire an herbivorous diet, once they
achieve adulthood.

Soft Shell Turtle
Apalone
Spinifera Spinifera
Turtles for Sale
Adoption / Export /
Education
Soft Shell Turtles are diverse
from many other Turtle species, in that they lack the traditional
carapace often displayed. Instead, they are covered with skin that
gives the consistency of leather. Soft Shell Turtles frequently lack
scaling that is commonly present on Turtles, with the rare appearance
of scales occasionally forming on their legs. The carapace is
characterized by being long and flat in appearance. As hatchlings it is
commonly adorned with shades of grey, olive or tan with a splattered
appearance of black speckles being displayed. Males have a tendency to
retain the same color schemes that are associated to the hatchling Soft
Shell Turtles, but the females, on the other hand, tend to become
darker over time. The Soft Shell Turtles legs are generally an olive to
brown tint with an occasional darkened area.
