They exhibit yellow to red streaks that stretch from their facial region down their chin. Painted Turtles are certainly named accordingly; they are considered to be one of the most vibrantly colored Turtles that live on Earth. Their carapace resemble a grid, each scute is separated by a faint grey line. Their skin tones are generally grey in appearance. The sexual dimorphism for Eastern Painted Turtles is not nearly as substantial. A mature male normally achieves 5”-6” and a female 6”-8”. Eastern Painted Turtles posses webbed feet, which allows them, ease and agility while maneuvering through the water. | |
