Reeve’s Turtle

Chinemys Reevesii

Turtles for Sale

Adoption / Export / Education

The Reeve’s Turtle is commonly referred to as one of the best suited Turtles for captive indoor care, mainly, because they are smaller than many of the other aquatic Turtle species available in the pet trade. Their carapace is adorned with three ridges that span the entire length. The coloration on their carapace can vary from brownish yellow hue all the way to a dull shade of black, while the color range on their skin can range from an olive-grey to black. Commonly Reeve’s Turtles that exhibit the lighter color schemes, also display yellow or white streaks that radiate down their head and neck. They have been known to reach a maximum size of approximately 5”-9” at full maturity. The Reeve’s Turtle is native to Japan, China, Taiwan and Korea. They have a tendency to prefer shallow waterways with sand as the preferable substrate.

The Western Chicken Turtle displays skin tones that range from brown to olive, with white or yellow striping that radiates up their long slender neck. This same stripping is also visible on the opposite end of the Turtle, as well. The throat and chin sections are absent this radiating striped pattern. Chicken Turtles commonly posses color variations on their carapace that range from olive to tan. A faint, intrinsic, net like pattern of white and yellow is visible on their carapace. The carapace is generally flatter and similar in shape to a pear.

No-Eyed Red Ear Slider Turtle

Trachemys Scripta Elegans

Turtles for Sale
Adoption / Export / Education

Every now and then, nature will produce the No-Eyed Red Ear Slider Turtle. At the rate of about 1 per every thousand we’ll come across a rare hatchling on our farm with this imperfection. Turtles with this imperfection can thrive just as well as any other turtle as long as you provide a little extra care. Early on, they’ll need to be monitored closely for a few months to assure they’re consuming the proper nourishment and ready to live a long, healthy life.

You can recognize the Red Ear Slider by the reddish-orange band near the back of their head. The carapace varies in different colors – from olive to brown hues along with black and yellow bands that cover the carapace itself. Their legs will often have a yellow striping pattern, too.

These are special, unique turtles that will often exhibit a certain flare of personality and individualism that might not be found in the hatchlings born without this unique variation. Their other senses are highly-evolved and they will learn to listen for you and recognize your scent!
