JUVENILE

YELLOW SPOTTED

TURTLES FOR SALE

  • The Juvenile Yellow Spotted Turtle is native to the streams and flooded forests of South America’s Amazonian river basin. The carapace of these turtles is brown to a greenish-gray with a narrow yellow border. This turtle gets its name from the very distinctly yellow spots on the side of its head.
These are considered “side-necked” turtles because they don’t pull their head directly into their shell, but rather bend the neck sideways and tuck their head underneath the shell. These turtles are primarily herbivores, but they do eat pellets, fruit, fish and other invertebrates. They are very pretty turtles that enjoy low-water areas.

YELLOW BELLY

TURTLES FOR SALE

  • Juvenile Yellow Belly Turtles are native to the United States and are found in lakes, rivers, ponds and marshes east of the Rocky Mountains, primarily in southeastern states. They are omnivores and eat turtle pellets along with greens, vegetables and fruits to supplement their diet. They also need good sources of protein. If you house a Juvenile Yellow Belly Turtle indoors you will need a large enough tank, a basking area and UV lights for these handsome turtles to enjoy.
The Yellow Belly Turtle is an attractive, hardy and fascinating turtle. They like to slide from their basking sites, where they enjoy the sun, to the coolness and safety of the water. These turtles are easy to keep and almost always thrive well in captivity with proper care. With proper care and love, these turtles can live to be 40 years old!

MISSISSIPPI MAP

TURTLES FOR SALE

  • Mississippi Map Turtles have a grayish-brown shell and their bodies are light grey with stripes of yellow and cream. Not surprisingly, they’re native to the Mississippi and Missouri River basins. In their natural habitat they spend most of their time in the water, coming to land or to the tops of logs to bask in the sun.
  • Mississippi Map Turtles are omnivores and feed on pellets, vegetation, and fish. The name “Map” comes from the markings on the carapace and how it resembles the contours of a map! They’ll need a nice basking area where they can get completely out of the water and hang out. The deeper the water you can provide, the better, because they love to swim.

JAPANESE WOOD

TURTLES FOR SALE

  • Japanese Wood Turtles are semi-aquatic turtles are native to ponds, marshes and slow moving streams in the islands of Japan. They are omnivorous and eat pellets, insects, frogs, fish, earthworms and plants. Japanese Wood Turtles flourish in set-ups that have both a nice land, and aquatic area. They enjoy basking, so a set-up with the best of both worlds is idea. They would also enjoy a water set-up as long as there was a great basking area.
Some people call them Japanese Pond turtles, but their bottoms are all black, with golden brown carapaces. With a little time and care these shy turtles end up becoming rather outgoing and full or personality. In Japan, the Japanese Wood Turtle population is steadily decreasing, but fortunately a few breeders produce them here in the United States. These turtles will appreciate as much space as possible.
