| MUSK ( STINK POT ) TURTLES
- The Western Painted Turtle is native the ponds, marshes, lakes and slow-moving rivers of southern Canada, the United States, and northern Mexico. They are beautiful animals that love the soft, muddy bottoms of these types of areas. The neck, feet and tail, and the carapace-edge have a really pretty red and yellow striped design that gives this turtle its painted look. Depending on the particular species, the designs can be very intricate and bold.
- Aquariums for housing painted turtles should be at least 40 gallons per adult. They will need an area to bask. The painted turtle spends the majority of its time in the water, but if you’re quiet, you'll be able to spy on a colorful painted turtle lying in the sun on rocks or the floating logs in your pond.

| Snake Neck Turtle You can probably tell from the name that the most notable feature of the Snake Neck Turtle is its elongated neck. Sometimes their necks can be as long as their shells! They’re considered side-necked turtles because they do not retract into their shells, but rather they move their heads off to the side. They’re also known for their webbed feet which are great for swimming, digging and catching prey. Their shells are a brownish color with flattened and broad scutes and distinctive black seams on their bellies. The Snake-Neck Turtle is a beautiful, carnivorous creature. These turtles are very unique and interesting turtles that need a large tank and a basking area to thrive and be happy.
